This internship strengthened my skills in storytelling, collaboration, and strategic communication - foundations I look forward to building on in my future media career.

University of British Columbia
Future Global Leaders: Global Journalism and Media Literacy Program
I attended a two-week, on-campus summer leadership program. The coursework focused on Global Journalism and Media Literacy taught by a UBC professor. Specifically, we explored the media’s role in reporting truthful stories. We learned about journalism policies in countries around the world and then we made a website about them. The best part of the experience was having the opportunity to make friends from around the world.
Boston University
Summer Journalism Academy
I participated in a two week, on-campus journalism program. This residential pre-college program included both in-class and hands-on educational opportunities taught by journalism industry professionals. I was assigned to report on the Boston Red Sox vaccination requirement for their baseball players, and my article was published in the Boston University’s student newspaper. Exploring the city and having a taste of campus living was very fun!

I studied at Cremona International Music Academy and Festival in the summer of 2018. During my time there, I took private lessons, master classes with world renowned teachers, worked on chamber music, and immersed myself in the music of Cremona, which happens to be the Stradivarius capital of the world.
Berkshire, MA

While at Berkshire, I had the opportunity to expand my technical performance skills, specifically in collaborating with other musicians in playing classical music.
Sierra Nevada Backpacking & Rock Climbing
Outward Bound
I completed a 10 day High Sierras backpacking and rock climbing trip in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. It was a highly rewarding trip where I learned to use my voice as a leader and advocate, take calculated risks, resolve conflict, solve problems, work in teams, challenge myself both mentally and physically, and learn effective communication skills.
